I'm so happy you've stopped by my page. Allow me to introduce myself...
My name is Simone Adams. I'm a writer and editor. What makes me stand out? I'm attracted to the spirit of the story—intimate stories that reveal the soul of the people involved and move the reader. We all have a story to tell and my job is to make sure it is a story well told.
My personal writing typically focuses on underrepresented groups and stories we don't often talk about out loud. From homelessness to sex trafficking to menstruation. Yep, I said it—menstruation. My goal is to change the narrative, get people talking about age-old issues in a new way, and inspire my readers to think differently.
In addition to my own personal writing, I have a passion for working with nonprofits and helping them tell their story. With more than a decade of nonprofit development experience, I have both the skillset and the passion to inspire your staff, your board, your funders, your volunteers, and your fans to support your mission in the way that is most meaningful to your bottom line. My writing is crisp, audience-centered, and tuned for revenue generation. I'm able to synthesize analytics and qualitative narrative. Let's tell your story in a way that resonates with your stakeholders and activates funders.
And when I'm not writing for publication or for others, I write in my own journal and tell my own story. I frequently facilitate journaling workshops and I invite you to join me. The art of journaling is an amazing journey of self-discovery and will breathe new life in your creative writing.
Want to know more about me?
I spent most of my life in Atlanta but took the past few years to explore new places in the Southwest, Pacific Northwest, and now the Appalachian Mountains. I'm a tomboy, a foodie, an amateur photographer, and an avid hiker. Both my dog and my cat enjoy hiking with me. I have a soft spot for individuals experiencing homelessness. My go-to literary genre is historical fiction. I'm a fan of the Oxford comma, of course. I enjoy craft beer and a good whiskey. As long as I can hold a pen I'll continue to write.
